The PDC Asian Championship made its debut in 2022, with Christian Perez and Haruki Muramatsu emerging as the winners in the first two editions held in Fukuoka and Shimonoseki respectively.
This year, the prestigious event is set to take place from October 17-20 in Manila, where the top Asian darts players will gather to showcase their skills in the capital of the Philippines.
The top 16 players from the final 2024 Asian Tour Order of Merit will be seeded for the tournament, with Order of Merit leader Alexis Toylo expected to lead the pack on home soil. The likes of Paolo Nebrida, Tomoya Goto from Japan, Man Lok Leung from Hong Kong, Nitin Kumar from India, and Singapore’s Paul Lim are also among the seeded players.
National qualifying events will be held to determine additional players for the competition, with territories without a national qualifier sending their top-ranked player from the PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit.
The Asian Championship Qualifiers set for October 17-18 will determine the final 16 players (or more if places are available from national qualifiers). The top four players from each of the four events will advance to the main tournament.
A total of 48 players will compete in a round-robin format with 16 groups of three on Saturday, October 19. The group winners will then move on to the last 16, followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and ultimately the final on Sunday, October 20.
