The Flanders Darts Trophy, part of the PDC European Tour, is set to take place from Friday, September 6 to Sunday, September 8 at the Antwerp XPO in Antwerp, marking the first time the Belgian port city will host a PDC tournament. This event serves as the tenth round of the PDC European Tour, consisting of a series of thirteen tournaments where the top 32 players eventually vie for a spot in the European Championship in Dortmund.
The history of the Flanders Darts Trophy dates back to the PDC’s previous visits to Belgium. In 2020, Hasselt hosted the Belgian Darts Championship, where Gerwyn Price emerged victorious by defeating Michael Smith in the final. The following year, the tournament was rebranded as the Belgian Darts Open and moved to Wieze, where Dave Chisnall and Michael van Gerwen claimed the title in consecutive years. In 2024, Luke Littler stunned the field to capture the championship. This season, a new second Euro Tour tournament in Belgium, the Flanders Darts Trophy, will feature a field of 48 players competing for glory.
Antwerp will witness a stellar lineup of participants, with only Nathan Aspinall, Gary Anderson, and Jose de Sousa among the world’s top 32 absent from the competition. The likes of Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Raymond van Barneveld, and Dimitri van den Bergh are set to grace the event.
Luke Humphries, a strong contender for victory, returns to the European Tour after missing the German Darts Championship. The top-seeded players for the Flanders Darts Trophy include Luke Humphries, Dave Chisnall, Gerwyn Price, and others, while Order of Merit qualifiers such as Daryl Gurney, Joe Cullen, and Raymond van Barneveld will also be in action.
Among the favorites for the tournament, Luke Humphries stands out as a consistent performer on the Euro Tour. Known as ‘Cool Hand Luke,’ he has reached two finals in six appearances and secured a title in Munich. Peter Wright, coming off a surprise victory at the German Darts Championship, is also a contender for the Flanders Darts Trophy title.
Fans can catch all the action from the Flanders Darts Trophy via TV broadcast and live stream, witnessing the battle for supremacy among the top darts players in the world.
