The upcoming Players Championships 20-21 on September 17-18 will be held at the Robin Park Tennis Centre. This event marks another step in the journey to qualify for the BoyleSports World Grand Prix next month. The tournaments will have a total prize fund of £125,000 each, with 128 players competing for the £15,000 top prize in each event. World number one Luke Humphries is set to headline the field, alongside other notable names like Luke Littler, Michael Smith, and Michael van Gerwen.
Action will kick off at 1300 BST on both days, with coverage from four boards available to stream on PDCTV and various bookmakers’ websites worldwide. German commentary will also be provided throughout the event.
The list of players for the two tournaments is impressive, featuring PDC Tour Card Holders and PDPA Associate Members. The participants include familiar faces like Gary Anderson, Nathan Aspinall, Steve Beaton, Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price, and many others.
Notable absentees among the Tour Card Holders include Ronny Huybrechts, Adrian Lewis, and Peter Wright. However, several Non-Tour Card Holders will be competing, adding an element of unpredictability to the tournaments.
With such a strong lineup of players set to compete, including both seasoned veterans and rising talents, the Players Championships 20-21 promise to be two days filled with intense darts action at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan.
