The Qualifying Schools organized by the PDC offer darts players who are 16 years old and above the chance to earn a two-year PDC Tour Card, allowing them to compete against the top players in the sport on the professional circuit.
One standout player from the new PDC Tour Card Holders in 2024 is Dutch darter Wessel Nijman, who earned his spot on the ProTour by finishing high on last year’s Development Tour Order of Merit. Nijman, who reached the quarter-finals at the recent Hungarian Darts Trophy, reached his first senior ranking final in July. Meanwhile, Dom Taylor has been the top performer from the 2024 UK Qualifying School graduates.
The Qualifying School will take place simultaneously in the UK and Germany from January 6-12, 2025, with venues at Milton Keynes’ Marshall Arena in the UK and Wunderland Kalkar in Germany. The event will consist of a three-day First Stage followed by a four-day Final Stage.
During the First Stage, players who reach the quarter-finals on each day will automatically qualify for the Final Stage. The remaining spots in the Final Stage, up to a total of 128 at each venue, will be decided based on an Order of Merit. Players who lose their Tour Card by the end of 2024 will still be exempt to the Final Stage of either UK or European Qualifying School, although entry is required.
In addition, the top 16 players from the 2024 Winmau Challenge Tour and Development Tour Orders of Merit who do not have Tour Cards for 2025 will receive free entry to the Final Stage. Furthermore, the top eight players from the final 2024 Women’s Series Order of Merit and 2024 PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour will be invited to compete in the First Stage of Qualifying School at no charge.
Players interested in entering the Qualifying School can do so online via the PDC Entry System, with the entry fee set at £475 per player, including the 2024 DRA Sanction Fee. The deadline for entries is 1400 GMT on Tuesday, December 31.
