Basel is set to host one of the most anticipated PDC European Tour events of the year, with big names such as world number one Luke Humphries and rising star Luke Littler taking center stage.
This upcoming weekend’s tournament marks the last chance for players to secure a spot in the prestigious BoyleSports World Grand Prix, scheduled to be held in Leicester from October 7-13.
The competition will feature the top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit, along with 16 qualifiers from the one-year ProTour Order of Merit, in a thrilling double-start event.
Defending champion Luke Humphries and six-time winner Michael van Gerwen are set to lead the pack as seeded representatives, with former champions Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton also securing spots in the top eight.
Young talent Luke Littler will lead the group of ProTour Order of Merit Qualifiers, as he gears up for his debut in the double-start format alongside newcomers Gian van Veen, Ricardo Pietreczko, Ritchie Edhouse, and Cameron Menzies.
Fans can also expect to see former finalists Gary Anderson and Raymond van Barneveld, as well as two-time World Grand Prix champion James Wade and 2017 titleholder Daryl Gurney showcasing their skills on the big stage.
Despite the strong lineup, there are still several notable names yet to confirm their qualification, with Brendan Dolan and Luke Woodhouse currently occupying the final two provisional spots in the 32-player field.
Former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding and 2020 World Grand Prix runner-up Dirk van Duijvenbode are leading the charge to secure their spots, while Gabriel Clemens will unfortunately miss out on qualification this weekend.
